Gitano's makes the best Italian Ice in town. They are currently located in the Waring Road Plaza, having been booted from the front space at Mama Rosa's. The woman who runs this place teaches at Edison during the day so you have to stop by in the afternoon on school days. She is a talker too, so get her started if you like.

I like the remnants of the PIZZA sign sticking out from behind the ice cream cone. Amico's Pizza used to be in this spot. Gitano's manages to have both the "Open" and the "Closed" sign in the window at the same time, but they were open when I bought this. They have a wide array of ices including green tea and peanut butter but I like the lemon ice. It's just water, sugar, lemon juice and a short list of mystery additives. And it's fat free.
