Aria
had a great outdoor patio on East Avenue, downtown and it was
the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch. I ordered the Tilapia
with Fresh Asparagus and tomato salad. They brought the wrong
plate out though. The piece of fish seemed way too big for tilapia.
I took a bite anyway and it was pink inside and it tasted like
salmon. I asked the waiter what was up and he took it back. My
dinner mate was enjoying her Fettuccine Boscaiola while the kitchen
covered their tracks. The tilapia was fabulous when it arrived
and it was on the house.
Aria
is gone already. It was located in the old Rochester Club restaurant
which had changed it's name to Gerry's before it folded. I have
no idea why he closed that place. He seemed to have a good thing
going there and we always had a nice mea there. And it was so
much fun to talk wiyh Gerry when he came out of the kitchen. It
is now a Mediterranean place. That would seem to include Italy.
This
place has changed hands so many times I don't even know what it
is anymore.
