"Best Of Italy" is gone but not forgotten. Italian TV is always on in this room. The tables were to the right of the the store pictured below. You could bring your own bottle of wine if you anted? They had one of the world's best dark beers. "Moretti " -La Rossa Birra, Doppla Malta. I imagine if you were walking down a small street in an Italian city he size of Rochester and you were hungry, you could walk into a place just like this.

Best Of Italy used to be next door to Canaltown Coffee on East Avenue. They moved out to Canandaigua and I don't kow what they are called out there. But I do know that Lucano's has moved into this spot. Canadagua used to have a great Italian restaurant called Caruso's and we all headed out there on prom nights to have dinner in our rented clothes. The drinking age was eighteen back then but they would serve us at sixteen. We used to order Chianti and lasagna.
