My
nephew came to visit at Christmas and he brought his global
positioning device. He tracked our route for a few days (we
had no idea how much running around in circles we do) and he
put markers at various Rochester locations. Standing on top
of Cobbs Hill, he could tell us exactly which direction our
house was and how far. He marked this ordinary house on Atlantic
Avenue at Amsterdam Street as the North Pole of Rochester, New
York.
