2005 The
early heatwave we had cleared out with yesterday's rain
and this was perfect weather for the perfect band for
the outdoor Gibbs Street Stage. Lumiere plays gypsy jazz
but not as purists. They sound old world but which world
is hard to say. Brian Williams (on bass) played with
John Mooney for many years and the fabulous Bob Henry
and The Goners for the last twenty. Roy Berns was part
of Steve Greene's trio. Ed Marris on accordion plays
with Stone Soup. They don't need no stinkin' drummer.
They play Tuesday nights in the Little Theatre Cafe which
is another perfect spot to hear them.
